Bible Study

Getting Closer to the Gospel

Bible Study is central to us as United Methodists. We offer a variety of approaches to becoming students of scripture, for example, our annual Fall Focus and Lenten Study are biblically based.

We also have a weekly Women’s Bible study that meets on Tuesday mornings. Nursery care is available. Contact Janet Oliver at j-r-oliver@cox.net for more information on the Tuesday morning women's Bible study.

• Worship 9:30 AM: Relaxed Traditional – Traditional and new hymns with our Chancel Choir.
• Worship 11 AM: Contemporary / Modern Worship – Band, Candles, Families.
• Sunday school for children at each hour. Loving nursery care, too.

This Week at SMUMC

This Wednesday we will have an Ash Wednesday service at 7 pm. Ashes are a sign of repentance and mourning. The Ashes traditionally are from Palm Sunday the year before and serve as a reminder that the joy of Palm Sunday can quickly turn to the betrayal and grief of the cross. The Ashes also remind us of the brevity of life. Let us begin the season of Lent with a clear focus on the gift of life and the correct use of that gift.
