Meetings: Fall 2004 - Six Weeks Session
Time: Tuesday Morning: 9:30-11:30am, (led by Mary Widicus) or
Thursday Evening: 7:30-9:00pm (led by Joella Russert)
Location: At the church

Today, some people think of the church as a powerless institution made of ancient traditions and stuffy buildings.  They're wrong!  The church is the new community of God's people.  It's filled with the power of the Holy Spirit.  And it has as much to say to the world today as it did two thousand years ago.

In our six-week study of the book of Acts, we will discover that God wants to do a fresh work among God's people by the power of the Holy Spirit. We continue our journey to find the pathway to authentic community and we learn how to grow as worshipers.

Our study is guide is authored by John Ortberg, currently a senior pastor at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church in Menlo Park, CA, and previously a teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church. He is the bestselling author of Everybody's Normal Till You Get to Know Them; If You Want to walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat; Love Beyond Reason; and Old Testament Challenge. He has written for Christianity Today and is a frequent contributor to Leadership Journal.

We offer two sessions of the Building Community class this fall: one on Tuesday mornings 9:30-11:30am at church; the other on Thursday evenings 7:30-9:00pm.  Both sessions include lively discussions and serious searching for the Holy Spirit's presence in our lives.  For more information, contact Mary Widicus (Tuesday morning class leader) at (949) 766-6938 or Joella Russert (Thursday evening class leader) at (949) 589-7438.
